Organic products are the ones that have been produced according to specific standards that have been set out by the European legislation regarding their production, their processing and their marketing. In compliance with these standards, there are approved organizations who are in charge of inspecting and certifying organic products. There are two main categories of organic products:
These are herbal products produced in agricultural parcels "which are going to be transformed into organic” (there is a period of absence of pesticide leftovers in the final product for at least one year).
These are products which are produced after the agricultural parcel has been through the transitional phase for two years (in case of cultivations with annual biological cycle) or three years (cultivations with multiannual cycle).
